History
A natural evolution
CW Arborists, Ltd. is the result of a natural evolution and the ongoing commitment of our founder, Michael S. Gaines. He and the CW Arborists team are dedicated to the art and science of arboriculture.
Mr. Gaines began his career in the nursery business, eventually owning and managing his own establishment in East Hampton, NY. After supplying and advising residential, commercial and professional clients for several years, he expanded his passion for arboriculture by becoming credentialed as an ISA Board-Certified Master Arborist (BCMA) and Connecticut State Arborist.
CW Arborists, Ltd. has grown from its original service area of the East Hampton and Southampton Towns in NY, to include the Connecticut Shoreline area, and maintains offices in both Sagaponack, NY and Killingworth, CT.

We believe trees have a significant role in the enhancement of our lives, the improvement of properties, defining a community and in the health of an environment. By making the care and preservation of trees our mission, CW Arborists, Ltd. hopes to make a lasting impact on the people and communities we serve.

Every solution is unique
At CW Arborists, Ltd., we are adept at recognizing the myriad of problems facing trees: from diseases and pests to weather events and injury. Diagnosing and treating these problems requires a comprehensive approach. Every tree, every site, every situation is unique and therefore every solution is unique. CW Arborists, Ltd. applies this strategic approach to each client’s needs.
The staff at CW Arborists, Ltd. cares for many, many magnificent trees on both private and public properties. We would love the opportunity to assess and help preserve your trees.

Unlike a “Tree Surgeon” or “Tree Guy,” an Arborist specializes in the care of woody plants. We nurture the long-term health, well-being and preservation of trees — using non-invasive and sustainable technologies whenever possible.
